TORONTO, ON, JULY 2023 – Toronto based musician Carlos Thurler is set to release his debut album, Divided on 25/08/2023. The ten original songs, which were written and produced by the artist, are influenced by 90s alternative rock sounds that range from grunge and hard rock territory to more emotional and vulnerable ballads.

On this first solo effort Thurler delivers a guitar driven album, where he also recorded all vocals and bass guitars. “Recordings took place between Toronto and Brazil, where I was lucky to have some talented friends contributing drums and keys. The songs reflect who I am and the sounds that influenced me since I was very young. So, these songs come from a pure, personal place” says Thurler, who also wrote all lyrics on the album.

The album features fellow Brazilian musicians Caco Gonçalves and Tony Coutinho on the drums, and Daniel Rodrigues on piano and organ. All songs were mixed by the renowned English producer Chris Sheldon, who has worked with Foo Fighters, Therapy?, Anthrax and Pixies, among others.

Carlos Thurler has 25 years of experience in music, playing guitar in tribute and original bands. In 2008 he recorded a full-length album in Brazil with local indie band Monovida, before moving to London (UK), where he later worked and recorded with local singer-songwriter James Daniel Best.

More intense stints as a gigging musician followed before a move to Canada, where soon after the pandemic hit, Carlos turned all his attention to producing songs of his own.

The full-length album Divided is out August 25th on all major streaming platforms. Its lead single is out now!
